NordicTrack FreeStride Trainer FS7i Elliptical Review
The idea behind the FreeStride is that it is a complete cardio machine combining 3 machines in 1: Stepper, Elliptical, & Treadmill. It offers up to a 38 inch stride length, 24 resistance levels, and up to 10% incline. The cushioned pedals rotate on a belt rather than rails. This design provides a quiet and smooth experience. With the capacity for a full range of strides in a low impact machine the FreeStride is an ideal trainer meeting the individual needs of each user.
On top of the physical design, the FreeStride Trainer is paired with an impressive display. It comes with a 7 inch web enabled full color touchscreen. There are 35 built-in programs and it is iFit compatible. With iFit the user can get a ton of additional exercise programs, access to google maps, and advanced performance and goal tracking. The iFit subscription is an additional cost but improves and personalizes the experience for the user.

Out of the box, this FreeStride is very easy to put together. There are only 3 steps and the snap assembly design is painless. The design includes belts instead of rails which sets this machine apart from the rest of the crowd and is what really allows for the 3 styles of motion. It takes some time to get used to how fluid all of the motions run together. I had to really concentrate to stay in the same motion pattern throughout my workout. When I would get distracted it was easy to slip into an easier more relaxed motion. The workout is really based on the individual. If you crank up the resistance and push yourself this can be a great machine. But I also see the potential to get distracted with everything this machine offers. There is a lot of entertainment included, especially with iFit.
